Calgary Central Library impresses you even before you enter. But it really is the interior that keeps me there for hours. I don't remember seeing so much woodwork in a public building before. Also, the design is out of this world. It is a truly magnificent space, yet for a building this size surprisingly welcoming and cozy. Apart from the obvious - the book reading - it is a place to work, rest and spend time with your family. This project is the result of collaborative efforts of Snøhetta, DIALOG and StructureCraft. Hands down, one of the most amazing buildings I have photographed.
